Santa Clara, Calif. - July 15, 2008 - County of Hernando FL, Selects CIPAce™, CIPPlanner's Enterprise Capital Program Management (CPM) Solution
Hernando County, FL Board of County Commissioners ratified the selection of CIPAce™, CIPPlanner Corporation's Enterprise Capital Program Management (CPM) solution. This selection is part of the County's on-going efforts to improve services. The staff of the County has reviewed the County-wide work flow activities associated with managing capital program improvements. This review concluded that CIPAce™ would improve the efficiency of creation of both the Capital Improvement Plan and the amendment process of the Capital Improvement Element of the Comprehensive Plan in accordance with the growth management requirements of Florida Statutes. These requirements mandate that the County update the schedule of capital improvements annually in order to demonstrate a financially feasible comprehensive plan to the State. According to the budget amendment memorandum by George Zeottlein, Director, Office of Management and Budget, the County concluded: The proposed software (CIPAce) will provide a greater level of capital improvement planning and tracking and will result in the advanced ability to satisfy multiple work and process demands.
In selecting CIPAce™ the county identified the benefits to be realized by implementing this solution. These benefits included,
- consolidation of information silos and disparate systems,
- readily accessible information and data reducing the time associated with the research and decision making functions,
- reduction in the processing time for personnel involved in data input and reporting
- efficiency in modifying/adjusting proposed expenses based on changing funding resources
- ability to access and report real time status and information on capital improvement projects
- ability to integrate with the County's existing information systems including the County's Geographical Information System (GIS) which may assist in producing necessary reporting data during and after events such as hurricanes
